The Site Assessment will be undertaken of the site to assess for potential areas of contamination at the site and potential contaminants. This will include a site walkover assessment, look for areas such as chemical storage areas, car wash facilities, petrol station sites etc. and an assessment of available previous reports and other historical documentation. The report will comment on the various operational risks and the likelihood of contamination being present.

A more intrusive assessment is to be undertaken prior to redevelopment to assess if the site is suitable for the intended land use. This assessment (Phase 2 assessment) involves digging test pits for soil sampling and sinking wells for groundwater sampling.
