In the wake of incidents including the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire, fire safety concerns have emerged regarding the use of potentially combustible cladding products. Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP’s) with a high polyethylene content are of particular concern due to the material’s combustibility.
Sampling of suspected ACP is undertaken to identify the constituents of the core of the panelling to enable characterisation as per the Insurance Council of Australia’s Residual Hazard Identification Protocol – Categories A (high risk) – D (non-combustible).
