Peter began his insurance and risk management career as a graduate with MMI Insurance, which in 1998 became Allianz Australia. Within the graduate programme he spent time working in claims departments where he provided technical input to claims such as the Thredbo landslide, at the same time completing studies in a Graduate Diploma of Insurance. He soon found the Loss Control department and began conducting property loss control surveys. Over the next two years Peter’s experience grew until he was offered a 6 month exchange programme with the Allianz Head Office in Munich. In Munich Peter continued conducting property inspections, particularly where reports needed to be in English for the international insurance market. Peter also used his background as an Environmental Engineer to gain more experience and understanding of Environmental Liability insurances.
Peter returned to Australia in 2000 where he became part of the ARCA Risk Engineering team within Allianz Australia. Peter continued to work with corporate clients in a range of industries with property, liability and construction risk engineering.
In 2001 Peter again left Australia, this time bound for England where he worked with Allianz Cornhill in London. Peter formed part of the Risk Control team for the Allianz Global Risks team, which caters for all clients with a turnover greater than 500 million euros. He conducted mainly property surveys of client facilities across the UK.
Peter returned to Australia in 2003 when he began working for RiskTech. Over the past five years Peter has worked with a range of clients in a variety of industries, providing mainly property insurance related consulting services, but also providing advice in relation to public liability, product liability, environmental risks, construction risk and business risk activities. Peter has also recently completed a Masters of Fire Safety Engineering and is now responsible for the “Assets @ Risk” part of the business.
