A move to Sydney in 1983 resulted in working for the New South Wales State Rail Authority where Maggie had the opportunity to take over the management of the Occupational Health and Safety Unit. This enabled her to pursue her interest in injury prevention and risk management, working with management and cross functional teams to implement strategies for incident prevention and better injury management.
Since 1987 Maggie has worked in the private sector. Senior management roles provided Maggie with the opportunity to continue in her preferred field of activity, incident and injury prevention. The roles have involved leading OHS Teams and working with Business Managers to develop and implement OHS management systems, train Managers and Supervisors to understand their responsibilities, set goals and monitor performance, and audit to assess compliance with legislation and AS4801.
